Canada Taxation — Direct & Indirect: a plain-English guide

Canadian compliance for cross-border groups

A Canadian company that also files in the US or India needs its T2 to line up with those returns, not contradict them — the same management charge and the same royalty must be described consistently. We hold the group file so the Canadian position is part of one story.

GST/HST registration, returns and reconciliations run alongside the income tax return. We handle the registration, file the returns, and reconcile the input tax credits against the ledger so the claim survives a review.

Payroll, CRA and cross-border employment

Payroll remittances, T4 and T4A are filed on the same cycle. Where an employee works across the US-Canada border, Regulation 105 withholding and treaty relief apply; we set the position and file the returns so the individual is not double-taxed.

CRA reviews, audits and notices of objection are managed end to end. The same practitioners who prepared the return defend it, so the analysis behind the number is available when CRA asks.

What we deliver

T2 and T1 returns, GST/HST filings, payroll remittances and T4s, CRA correspondence and objection support, and cross-border employment positioning. The deliverable is a Canadian position consistent with the rest of the group.
